Susana Ramsey
I was born in Chile (to Chilean parents) and immigrated to Canada in 1974. I was
raised in a bilingual home; hence I have remained fluent in Spanish. My love for
fitness and dance, particularly Latin dance, began over 20 years ago as a teen.
In my professional career, I have worked as a biochemical engineer, a software consultant
and project manager. My degrees include B.Sc. in Biochemistry, B.A. Sc. in Chemical
Engineering and an MBA.
I moved to Durham, North Carolina in October 2001 from Toronto to wed my husband,
Scott. I’m currently a stay-at-home mom of 2 girls (4 and 2 years of age) and 1
boy (8 weeks old).
Like most Stay-at-home moms, I felt the need to get out and interact with grown
ups again. Given my love for fitness, dance and children, I’ve been teaching Salsa
Babies since May 2006. My first 6-week session got its own write up (http://www.newsobserver.com/978/story/454120.html)
in The Durham News and Observer. Since then, Carolina Week has featured Salsa Babies
in one of its weekly television broadcasts.
As of February 2007, I have introduced Salsa Tots to my repertoire.
