Randy Bernard

Randy decided to take his passion for sports and make it into a full time venture. His previous business background was primarily been associated with Information Technology services and business development, but has been involved with sports for over 20 years.  Randy wanted to provide a coaching service that would help athletes of all types with specific plans and guidance to help them achieve their goals. He began his endurance sports career as a cyclist, and then in 1997 he competed in his first sprint triathlon and was hooked. Since that time Randy has completed in all types of endurance events from Sprint to Iron Distance triathlons, marathons and road races. Randy combines his experience of coaching hundreds of athletes with his own experience in endurance sport competition to provide a personalized and effective approach to your training. 

Randy competes as an "age group" competitor and can relate to athletes that have to work hard to improve their performance and still balance other family commitments. His two youngest sons are now training and competing in endurance events and he's looking forward to the day that he can have a family triathlon relay team.

His services include coaching for all multi-sport distances and One on One sessions for:

  • Coached first American female finisher of the Deca Iron Distance Event (that's right 10 back to back Iron distance events in 14 days)
  • Coached overall female winner of the 2006 Virginia Double Ironman
  • Coached current female record holder for Tejas 24 hour bike time trial
  • Coached numerous multisport athletes, ultra marathoners, and cyclist
  • Developed and evaluates nutritional game plans for TRImyCoach athletes
