Mike Thompson
Mike
A lifelong resident of Charleston, South Carolina, Michael Thompson grew up on the water and has always been involved in sports with surfing, kayaking, swimming and skiing being his main focus. In the mid 1990s he discovered triathlon on a bet and rode a borrowed mountain bike and swam 700 yards with his head entirely out of the water. He was instantly hooked and quickly became a strong competitor. He has completed endurance events ranging from Sprint distance to Ironman triathlons as well as countless road races and marathons. In the majority of his races he has placed or won as an age groujper and as an elite athlete. Michael holds a BA in Spanish from the College of Charleston and has been a bike mechanic for the last three years.

His training philosophy emphasizes consistency over all other factors to help ensure healthy habits without long layoffs due to burn our injury. Given his many years of race experience, he is able to use his triumphs and failures to assist new athletes. His results as TRImyCoach athlete are proof that a detailed plan paired with determination and focus create success
