Kelly McCook
Kelly comes from a competitive swimming background. She started swimming at the age of 9 in addition to playing baseball, basketball, and soccer. Her participation in multiple sports helped to make her a well rounded athlete growing up in south Georgia. She evolved into a great middle distance freestyler during her college career at the University of Kentucky from 1991-1995. She tried her first sprint triathlon in Ohio in 1996 on a mountain bike.

Kelly graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1997 with a bachelors degree in health sciences and a masters degree in physical therapy. She worked in a trauma hospital in southwest Georgia for 3 years. She had the opportunity to work alongside some of the best orthopedic physicians in the southeast from the Hughston clinic in Columbus, GA. and Columbia, SC.

She has spent the last 2 years working in an outpatient orthopedic physical therapy clinic (Human Performance & Rehabilitation Center). She has treated many weekend warriors and assisted several local triathletes in Columbia over the past 2 years. She has also dealt with her own overuse injuries from swimming and running, and knows from personal experience how difficult it is to balance multisport training with the rest of her active lifestyle.
